We all just happen to be involved in an activity wherein the prerequisites for the participants are.... optimism, delusion, insanity, idiocy and naivety.

Why else would we subject ourselves, year on year, to....reality checks.... torching....disappointment and heartbreak?

That very rare specie out there , who is NOT delusional, will admit to being much poorer for the experience than his/her acquaintances who know nothing about the stock market and are blissfully unaware of its quicksand properties.

I was one of them, until the day, about 47 years ago, when someone introduced me to a share called "Poseidon".
My foray into that share produced a result that had me gasping .... and bewildered at how this marvellous activity could have possibly escaped my alertness for such a long period of time.

OH, how I wish Poseidon had delivered a loss!

But here I am, still participating in this charade... with all its pitfalls, conspiracy theorists, insider traders, deception, and the myriad of other negatives .... all the while hoping that the shares I choose to buy will be subjected to a much higher degree of demand than supply.

I am happy not to have all the details of transactions I have executed over the years.... that way, I will never, ever, know the full extent of my stupidity..... and now I am too old to care enough, for it to affect me detrimentally.

Never forget that the share market is basically "The Public" versus "The Public".... and in this case there is not necessarily one winner for one loser.... because value can simply evaporate overnight, causing a big loss on the one hand....without anyone necessarily receiving an equivalent benefit.

Excuse me while I tighten a couple of the rusty screws in my soap box.
