The mayor of a Belgian seaside resort has said he plans to take a newspaper and a meteorological service to court over a gloomy weather forecast that led to scores of holiday cancellations.
"I can no longer bear this system of lies," Leopold Lippens, mayor of the town of Knokke-Heist, near Bruges, told German newspaper Die Welt. The 70-year-old said he would seek compensation "because they published rubbish."
