"....Discussions are ongoing in relation to power supply with several options on the table via various power suppliers, however the Company is constructing its own stand-alone power station capable of supplying 100% of the power requirements of the site, regardless of the outcome of discussions with third party suppliers.
Stand-by power is an essential requirement at any mine site, and recent modelling of CuDeco’s planned configuration of diesel generators has produced some surprisingly favourable cost-curve analysis when compared to alternative power supply options, including local grid electricity.
Based on previous experience of some of the Company’s most senior personnel, an innovative diesel generator based power supply configuration has been developed that results in costs per megawatt up to half those of comparable sized mine sites."
