Tinklers fails to pay $28.4m for a 33.85% stake in Blackwood

"Doubts are growing whether mining entrepreneur Nathan Tinkler can carry out his plan to acquire more of Whitehaven Coal and take it private. In a separate development, a share issue by Blackwood Corporation designed to give Tinkler a stake of 33.85% is being adjusted, leading to speculation he may not have sufficient financing in place for the Whitehaven deal either.
