Guys I agree with all of the points that are made regarding CFU's value to utilities, however I think we are missing a couple of key points:

Aus requires 10's of Billions to be spent on aging wire infrastructure to support increased load and new power stations etc. This number would be allot less if distributed generation was taken up on a large scale.

Efficiency loss through transportation of power means that CFU provides localised power at a much more efficient rate than that of centralised power stations.

Given the small clustered nature of the CFU unit there is the ability to increase power availability at a much more linear rate than centalised power stations offer.

Energy security issues are minimized through the creation of large groups of individual power stations.

I am sure there are more.
