I don't know from where you conclude that elections are near.
I saw several serious analyses in Malaysian websites that conclude that elections can not happen in 2013 and must be deferred to 2013. There are a series of events such as the Haj after the ramadan, the budget in september, festivities, the monsoon etc. All these eliminate to possibility to have the elections in 2012.
Secondly, why do you think that delaying the TOL acts in favor of Najib. As niqo and many others wrote, he must remove this issue before the elections and the only way to do it is to give the TOL and let Lynas show LAMP is safe.
Give me one reason why the TOL delay acts in Najib's favor.
