    Warro Edges Closer

    "This highlights the importance of Warro and other Perth Basin prospects which include Whicher Range and Arrowsmith, once they prove there is a viable resource, they are critical because they are right on the market and infrastructure."

    When WA Environment Minister Bill Marmion upheld the Environmental Protection Authority's decision not to assess the proposal to carry out a hydraulic stimulation program on the Arrowsmith-2, AWE and partner Norwest were given the chance to prove its shale gas concept. This is also an attractive project as it is in immediate proximity to a pipeline system that delivers gas to the southwest region.

    Tinapple said there are also some promising things happening with Buru Energy in the Canning Basin, "but they have to build their Great Northern Pipeline to deliver it to the WA market".
