re: Ann: ICON AND BEACH TO COMMENCE DRILLING ... G'day Acorn. Check out the head post "GSA with Santos". IMO, that tells us why there has been a change of strategy by BPT. They are trying to prove up as much gas as possible as soon as possible.
But, again IMO, as I have previously posted, those "deep pockets" that Mr Paul mentions are clearly BPT's MAJOR factor in drilling Halifax-1 ASAP. To connect it with 218 and then be able to obtain j/v funding from the majors to enable the development of what could be THE next major gas region in Australia, which cannot be developed without MAJOR contributions from the majors.
And don't forget that ICN are equally anxious to get a result from Halifax-1 and, hopefully, a major j/v partner with BPT, to finally put some "value" into their GSA, which will become not only valuable to ICN, but, to those screaming out for more gas AND GSAs in the GLNG projects. Success in Halifax-1 will be a massive win/win for both BPT and ICN.
