What I find really worrying is that, with armageddon coming for the Gillard government, they are free to do what they like in the interim, run up colossal debts, give away money to their cronnies, anything that will make the incoming government's job near-impossible.
Does anyone trust Gillard and Swan not to vandalise, destroy, and reward their supporters, now that they have more than year to do what they like?
Talk about the fox being in charge of the hen house. What can be done if Bob Carr decides to give away millions to Afghanistan and Syria? Nothing. What if they decide to up the welfare to the unprductive sector? Nothing to stop them, for they have nothing to lose.
The opportunity for Gillard and Swan to do this is now available and tempting, and the blame has to be laid at the feet of two people, Oakeshott and Windsor.
No wonder I am battening down for a new and very different Australia. We will make Greece look like Switzerland.
