Yes I shouldn't have mentioned extinct Mauritian fauna in my reply to Legs, but he said he came to play so I thought I'd take him up. His point is about metallurgy, but he was referencing it as mineralogy - so I was being facetious to reply back along those lines (a cheap shot perhaps).

But besides the banter, basically my point was that only having to deal predominanty with one mineral should be favourable; as quoted:


"The mineralogy is known. We are dealing with a single phase mineral - bastnasite - as per Mountain Pass, as the dominant mineral source of the REE's at Ngualla. As such a singular mineral processing route is advantageous over poly-phases.

It is the metallurgy we are waiting to find out about."
