Some might remember my comments when they posted the core photos that this stuff looked high ash. The results confirm it unfortunately.
It's hardly even coal. They have to wash it to even get a domestic-grade product. Look at those RDs, good quality coal at this rank would be 1.3 to 1.4, the cutoff for coal is generally 1.75. These are mostly between 1.6 and 1.8.
There are a couple of mine quality seams in there though, which is something I also mentioned previously - if they can find a few hundred million tons of better quality stuff then that will be worth more than the rest of the 2Bt combined.
