AMPELLA COMMISSIONS PREP LAB AT BATIE WEST
    Highlights
? Onsite sample preparation lab fully operational at Batie West
? Capacity to process 8,000 samples per month
? Aim to clear previous backlog of 46,000 samples for assay by end of wet season in October
    ? Gravity survey to commence
Ampella Mining Limited (ASX: AMX) is pleased to announce that its sample preparation laboratory based at its 100% owned Batie West Gold Project (Figure 1) in Burkina Faso has now been commissioned and is fully operational. In 2011, Ampella made the decision to construct its own sample preparation lab to combat the long delays occurring in the Burkina Faso laboratories (Figure 2). The ability to prepare samples ready for assay will decrease the turnaround times from the Burkina labs and will also afford Ampella the flexibility to send the samples overseas for assay if necessary.
In line with Ampella’s strict QA/QC procedures, Ampella has elected to retain independent contractor, SGS, to operate the lab to maintain independence of results from all drill programs. The outsourcing of this work also ensures a supply of well trained staff experienced in the preparation of samples for assay.
The lab is equipped to process up to 8,000 samples per month. As the wet season is now in full swing and our drilling programs have slowed accordingly, the lab will be able to concentrate on clearing the previous backlog of 46,000 samples awaiting assay. A number of these samples have been with assay labs in Ouagadougou for over six months and the commissioning of the Batie West lab will enable Ampella to systematically recall unprepped samples to site thereby reducing the turnaround time for gold assay. It is envisaged that between the Batie West lab and the existing facilities in Ouagadougou, the backlog of 46,000 samples will be cleared for assay by the end of October.
With the anticipated increase in assay results over the coming months, the Exploration Team will be able to review and refocus current work programs in light of increased information. The reverse

To further enhance Ampella’s understanding of the mineralisation at Batie West, a gravity survey has been commissioned to target intrusion related oxide mineralisation. The survey will begin in the coming weeks with results anticipated to further hone our future drilling programs, particularly in relation to increasing the proportion of additional free-milling ounces to be treated with the 3.1 Moz Konkera Resource (JORC Compliant Indicated Resource of 30 Mt at 1.6 g/t gold for 1.5 million ounces gold and Inferred Resource of 31.8 Mt at 1.5 g/t gold for 1.6 million ounces gold).
