They need to determine the mine foot print before submitting the application, and they are doing that aggressively. They should be able to submit very soon now.
Drilling is needed to progess the FS and mine plan.
They are already doing the flora and fauna surveys.
They are now aiming to proceed to trial mining before the wet season this year.
The aim is full production next year following a trial mine this year.
That's in the releases.
The trial mine for this year is new but released on Monday.
The FS will be looking at underground mining as well.
That will give a large boost to an already very positive scoping study outcome and add open ended mine life until a limit is found at depth. All veins are open at depth and as most would know, the scoping study was based only on open pit.
We are all eager to see mining ASAP. Expecting it before the wet season this year would be unrealistic so I am happy with the current aim to mine next year after a trial mine this year.
As for resource upgrades and scoping study delays, there was no sign of that at yesterdays speech. A resource upgrade is expected next month and the scoping study update the following month.
As I see it they are making excellent progress- as good as we could expect.
