Who carries the burden? - you dig for that one if you want the truth. Remember very large resource project spending and monster government deficits have made the GDP larger too - so guess what the debt to GDP ratio does?
I am looking at debt per capita, and I believe you need to add private debt while you are at it, we will have to carry the poo bucket in the end so you have to look at capacity to repay.
