I maybe off base here, so correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Lynas purchase $16mil worth of rare earth concentrate to commission the plant. Therefore wouldn't this be the product they would want to pass through the furnace.
The only step I see they can't do, is to measure the radiation if any in the waste/by product stream, as the concentrate bought didn't contain Thorium/Uranium.
I look forward to any expert's opinion on this.
