kpb ... if a company's fundamentals are sound then HFT/shorting/bot trading etc. delivers buying opportunities to those investors who are prepared to back their own research ... and the sp rebound, when it eventually comes, can be spectacular.
The main incumberance imho is the extra dilution that occurs if a company is compelled to undertake a capital raising when the sp is still 'in the toilet'.
Therefore it's 'cash is hand' that is the best weapon against these mongrels ... so DTE had better rein-in their cost structure or it may get really ugly.
