re: hot egyptian gip news/scarva Ahhhh Scarva, there's nothing like a bit of Egyptian reporting on the mining industry is there.LOL

Once again Fahmi is reported as taking an interest in Abu dabbab,Al Alaki-Allaqi(?) and Sokari.

Is it just a quirk of fate that we now have 3 possible major Australian projects in Egypt, this includes the magnesium project backed by Krupps.

The major point of significance in this typical little Egyptian media gem(encumbant with all its naming errors of companies and projects)is that it seems that Gip's tantalum project is now back to a start-up around the end of 2006.

As mentioned before I'd heard that this was perhaps the case and was heavily intimated by recent postings on HC re tantalum stockpiles and the timing aspect in regards the large off-take customer, alleged of course. This is also totally dependant on Gip attaining finance for the project.Just whether the lack of a finance annmnt is dependant on the stockpile issue or the negotiations being the inhibiting factor I doubt we'll be privy to.

It seems the Egyptians are still at pains to emphasise that the infant mining industry will eventually mature. The main aspect that gives the item some credence is that Fahmi is mentioned once again. If this wasnt the case it would be hard to put much faith in these sorts of items at all as the Egyptian media really needs to import a specialist mining reporter to get the basics right.

So we'll just continue to sit tight with all appendages crossed and hope that some good news of significance emerges soon.
