To continue with faint praise, Pete has the same problem that all our governments are cursed with .... Incompetent public servants who are unwilling to do their job without fear or favour. As an example I think the "Kids Overboard" fiasco was caused by advisors making judgements on what Johnny "wanted" to hear, not simply telling it as it is and leaving it to the boss.

I think he's honest and trying but the nation's best and brightest don't go into state politics.
