What state do you live in?
In WA in the late 1950's & early !960's I flew regularly between Perth & the NW, carrying my trusty .303 jungle carbine in DeHavilland Doves, Avro Ansons, Dc3's run by MMA, Airlines WA Ltd, wih the bolt & magazine removed, next to my seat.
It was about 1962 with the first pressurised aircraft the Fokker Friiendship (F-27) they said no, no, you cant do that.
As of present, I have flown Qantas, Skywest with a declared handgun (you have to tell them) in my luggage.
Ammo is limited by both airlines to 5kg, has to be in a suitable container and separate from the weapon in another bag.
No probs.
Now why cant you and Ypres accept the current WA law?
