Only once. To a humble porkchop like me, once does not make a trend.
You will find during those glory days that even the Labour States were paying down debt and running surpluses (I'll give you a big fat hint - 1. they were receiving a flood of GST revenue 2. property transaction revenue & 3. Investment returns).
Even Beattie managed to pay down most of Sir Joh's debt up here in god's country.
And then everybody ie Australia, the world, the Moon, Mars and Halleys Comet hit that wall called the GFC.
Now, no-one runs 'real' surpluses or has zero debt. This is the new paradigm we all find ourselves in.
