Fosters about a month ago put Roseby at $160M,and for full take-over at $0.40/share (i.e. about $200M for all the company).

I believe that doesn't take into account the strategic value of Roseby, and its importance to XStrata. Hence my most likely figure is between $250M and $300M, with $200M being the extreme low, and $350M being the extreme high.

Values have different meanings to different people, and any calculations are only based on comparisons with other transactions, which may not coincide with the strategic importance of Roseby.

$250M translates to about $0.50/share, add in $0.30/share for Finland and you get around $0.80/share total. Share prices at any moment are a mix of true value and psychological perception. Therefore any arithmetic calculations are only approximate.

All this speculation is interesting chatter to keep us occupied while events slowly unfold.
