Staunch, i am sorry to hear that you recently lost money on a recent short term trade on AVB.

Short term trading is not for the faint hearted and I am told that statistically very few people are successful in this form of trading. It takes a serious amount of time, effort and research not to mention the mastering the craft of reading the charts.

If you don't possess the required commitment in terms of time, education, aptitude and most importantly, balls of steel, then maybe it may be more prudent for you to stay on the porch and let the big dogs play.

Personally, I take a longer term view with my investing and don't get caught up in the short term swings and roundabouts.
