You can't tell if they are bankrupt until their derivative positions are unwound.
There is about $850bn on deposit with Aussie banks, but only $55bn total cash in circulation - much of that is in our pockets, cash registers, or under rmv's mattress, so there is very little cash available to satisfy depositors if there is a bank run.
CBA are very good at supplying large amounts of cash $50k, $80k with no questions asked, although you have to order it as they don't keep those quantities in the branch (not even head office).
