Hahaha! My speech to the commissioners and the pollies of the EU, was indeed a lesson to them all! Its topic was, "Who gave the world the most important anti-war lesson and how did he or she do that?" I had to deliver it some four or five days after the London bombings, so, even though I had toned down the language a great deal, the incident itself, along with the British media beatup (But not seen in the media of the rest of Europe) gave the speech an added sting. The atmosphere in the hall, in Brussels, was electrified and, as I was making the speech, I was wondering where the nearest toilet was! I was also wondering what the hell I was doing there and how it came about for me to be doing this. My heart felt like it was churning out concrete. Meanwhile, mother and sister back home kept ringing me every ten minutes telling me that they had a bad dream or a terrible premonition or some dreadful thing like that and that I should just pack up my sorry little skull and bring it back home. Veeeery edgey stuff there for a while!
Forget the souvlaki, tell me the name of your favourite restaurant and we'll both get there and solve a few problems, if you like, like how the hell do we turn heads like that of yak and dave and plush etc, around - or does that not matter?
