Thank you for the reference to Alan Kohler's article. Very interesting to see that coming from a notable figure. I also would like to suggest that "The moral bankruptcy of our ruling classes" can also be applied to middle class developed nations in relation to developing nations middle classes. As much as the middle class of Australia, USA, Canada, UK, etc.. are slaves to the so called "elite", or rather oligarchy of our societies, they are also weighting themselves higher on the international scale.
We also have to pay attention to the exceeding amounts of waste that are produced in our societies, as this too makes us(society as a whole) poorer due to the inefficiencies in use of time and wasted labour. The cycle is easily traceable and commonly known already, and likewise ignored.
I liked the time based economics systems that I have seen implemented so far, and am curious to see how these will be further extrapolated to deal with ever larger communities and possibly even the international scale, eventually.
