I will tell you for free what is wrong with education in this country.
The level is too low for teacher training. We have a generation or two of teachers that haven't been properly educated themselves. Teaching attracts people that have average or low scores in their year 12 exams. Teaching is a third or fourth choice for people that score above 75%. It tends to attract people that score between 60-75%. These may be fine people but their scores indicate that they barely passed. They are not the best spellers, essay writers or academically gifted people. Yet these the people have been teaching children now for the last 25 years. It is no wonder then that literacy levels have dropped when poor spellers and average achievers are directing the classroom.
