Yes BB, if we got a BIG SLR the Murray would reverse for many years and fill an inland sea. THEN your concept might hold water. If you think about it beaches CAN'T be flat. If you graded one that way, nature would undo your hard work.
When a groin or breakwall is put out to sea, there is no sandy beach beside it. Come back in 20 years one will have formed. Nature LOVES dunes and beaches. So do we.
