The peoples resources are worthless in the ground.
How can anyone blame miners for sitting on them. Take IO for example. The most common mineral on this planet.
It just sits there until there is demand and that demand can generate a price that makes it economical to get from A To B. It just sits there otherwise waiting another hundred years for it to become economic.
Its takes vast amounts of money and risk to develop it.
The government doesn't do it. They let private enterprise take the risk and then whack them with massive taxes and royalities. Then these risk takers get smashed for being successful for creating Jobs and wealth.
