Hi makattack .. Glug is right .. I posted on Woolworths reward scam last week ..
"You didn't read the fine print. You don't have to use the rewards card if you want to protect your privacy."
Many 'specials' marked by yellow stickers now have a small white message added below advising the 'special price' is available for 'reward card' holders.
In other words, no reward card .. noooo specials
And yes, Woolworths will now know the identity/personal details of every customer entering every shop .. where/when/what you buy and your shopping habits ...
Further, the Terms and Conditions state this info will be retained/logged and used to plan product offerings and also to SHARE these and your ID/INFO with third parties .. call centres/mailing houses etc ...
Sooo ... you can opt out .. let's say a modest $5/week lost in specials = $250 p.a.
As Dub correctly points out ... "freedom is not free."
Cheers ... tight stops.
