Given your knowledge of the eastern goldfields region and the key players, waht are your thoughts on the scale of operations and the possibility of significant operational consolidation in the region? Already we are seeing contracting opportunities and M&A activity which suggests that the local producers need to obtain better economies of scale (read lower production costs) to survive.
Do you think SAR will be "front and centre" of any of these opportunities moving forward??
Finally, it looks as though the punt re the ECB action will pay off. POG >$1,700/oz overnight and Mario Draghi has come through. Should be an interesting time on the market today.
No doubt we will see some traders return to the fold. However, its looking good for a significant rise over the course of the next quarter IMO based on the forecasts for gold by end of 2012.
DYOR.
