When a stock that is capable of being shorted in a significant fashion has negative discussion (press, Hot Copper etc)it will envirably become oversold until the shorts have to cover their positions.
When they do the stock will have a rapid short term bounce.
Depending on the strength of the negative discussion, and the fundamentals behind such discussion, the stock will tank yet again.
Pasminco comes to mind as an example.
