You will know that the entire Mbawa prospect had an interpreted gas cap of 55 to 100m in thickness. Origin estimated P10 gas in place of 284 BCF of gas using a 100m gas column. The JV has struck approximately half of that.
The big question from Apache - is the gas dry or is the gas the result of a oil formation?
As you can see they did not interpret a gas interval to exist across the entire Mbawa complex. The expectation was gas caps in various areas as a result of hydrocarbon generation.
If it is not a cap from an existing oil formation, then it is a small compartment in the complex and on its own probably sits around 0.2-1.5 TCF. Large range? Indicates the uncertainty of the find. Ophir had to revise their estimates of Papa-1 to between 0.5-2 TCF and are still developing firm resource estimates.
Leave Apache to analyse the core and see what conclusions they arrive at.
