This politician ought to realize that Lynas' objective all along has been not to have any "radioactive waste" to ship out. Recently Lynas has announced the start of pilot work to process waste residue from the LAMP into usable non-radioactive products such as a base for road construction.
An offer of a Chinese company to build a multi-million dollar plant close to the LAMP to process LAMP waste into commercial useful products was reported by the AELB. The article has been posted on Hot Copper.
So let's get the incoming shipments of ore from Mt. Weld started and not continue to re-address old, non-scientific fears.
