With respect pintohoo and many other posters,
I think you all have this ass backwards. The Chairman of the company represents the owners, and if the MD/CEO isn't getting a pat on the back from the Chairman, and the Board as well by following the Chairman's lead, specifically asking that these appreciations should be firmly passed on to staff, then its the Chairman nad Board that needs a letter, not the staff!
And quite a different letter too.
It would be a totally patronising and misplaced suggestion to send an email with 20 holders name on it for the lunch room notice Board.
Rather an email from 20 posters be sent to the Chairman, and he can stand on his hind legs and make it all official from the top down, rather than inserted sideways .
