Ugretreal!
Essentially you can make short sellers work in your favour in your long position. They (short sellers) pushed sp down gave me opportunity to buy at low price.
Also most of fund managers follow the index. FMG is in the index, funds will have to hold FMG stock wether they like it or not. Why not make some premium and lend stocks out? Fund managers can always blame the market for negative returns.
