buddy,
Your comment "compare apples with apples" is of course one that applies equally to almost any discussion on HC. All events, information, speculation, etc needs to be looked at in perspective, not just direct comparisons of companies such as is occurring here. A comment such as that one is therefore hard to argue with.
However like almost everything else "perspetive" is a little subjective and not something that we can expect total agreement on either.
While I'm agreeing with your broad statement I would however like to point out that comparisons aren't just about what two things have in common but rather determine what the differences are. Not all differences are static, ie some things that are different now may be more similar in the future.
Looking at differences that are only temporary can also be very helpful as this can provide some insight into the possible future of one or both entities. The state of CDUs mine development may be behind that of SFR but in 12-18 months time this difference will change markedly. As this particular difference transforms into a similarity so should we expect SP credits for that transition just as SFR enjoys.
The apples may not all look the same simply because they are at different stages of maturity. CDUs apples may be blooming late in the season and currently only look like buds but when they reach maturity they will look more like SFRs apples than they do today. Not all apples look alike.
Anyway, I for one see some of this as an interestng discussion if for no other reason that it replaces some of the sillier sledging discussions. Now if definately a good time to look forward.
