Just been in touch with Lom via e-mail regarding latest announcment and clarifying kimberlite stuff.
I copied it thinking it might get moderated and couldn’t see anything wrong with it.
The top 1 metre is 'weathered' kimberlite which is softer kimberlite and easier to process.
The next 49 metres is normal kimberlite which is the source ore for any diamonds. Apparently there is no overburden thus negating the need to do a narrow core drill etc on this kimberlite.
Regarding BLK8-Of note is there a 2-3 week wait to process the current Bauer results. This indicates that Lom is still processing ore from BLK8. Rough calcuations indicate that Lom has extracted another 760 tonnes of ore for BLK8 for processing which depending on results (more massive diamonds etc?) could easily deliver another 50-100 carats towards the 'marketable parcel'.
