I saw a surgeon interviewed on The Project on Monday night who suggested that perhaps the venues where a king hit occurs should sometimes be held liable for what happens even if the perpetrator can't be found.
I know a lot of assaults happen on the street, and I am dead against over litigation but I think he may be on the money here.
If one or two venues were sued because they allowed their patrons to get totally wasted and then committed assaults, it would probably cause a very fast change in behaviour from the pubs/clubs. Nothing better than the hip pocket nerve and the fear of million dollar lawsuits to effect change.
