Mr Lincoln Augustus was popular because unlike you he was an amusing enigma who did not write 'guff' but wrote in riddles and was very knowledgeable. I would never have known about many gas-related issues (HorseShoe Canyon in Canada for example) if not for him. Right now, for instant reference on my computer spread sheet I have his invaluable:
    1 Bcf = 1.055 PJ
    1 Tcf = 1000 Bcf = 1055 PJ
65 PJ needed to produce 1 million tonnes of LNG
A well flowing 2,600,000 scfd will produce 1 PJ a year

Your links are feeble and risible: LtG propaganda on one and “touchy- feely” Scenic Rim Beaudesert council on the other - population of Beaudesert according to the 2011 census: 6000. And this is the biggest town in the region. Its biggest attraction is having the only Macdonalds between Casino and Ipswich. I can sense the QLD govt trembling in it's metaphorical boots.

For comparison the population of that other centre of touchy-feelyness, Byron Bay - 9000.

The population of the pot-holed, collapsing infrastructure Peoples Republic of Lismorestan - 24,000.

The population of Kyogle - 10,000

Kyogle Council is merely playing to the gallery with its suggestion of going through the NRCA to reach the attention of energy Minister Hartcher. It is hiding behind this assoc because being financially unviable the costs upon inevitably losing in the L&E court would be ruinous. (It will be interesting to see if Lismorestan's Mayor Dowell wishes to take her citizens down the same ruinous route)

Total: 60,000 (and we don't know how many of them are quietly pro-gas or "don't know" and are undecided.)

(I have excluded Casino - pop:10,000 - because Metgasco has many wells within the Council boundaries and has co-existed with RVC farmers and townsfolk for many years now without incident. 350 local farmers have voluntarily signed access agreements to allow MEL rigs onto their properties)

    Population of NSW: 7,238,819 (2010).
The amount of gas NSW produces for itself - 5%.

    Population of QLD: 4,500,000
QLD will need Metgasco gas (via the Lions Way pipeline) as most of what is produced there now is going to Gladstone.

Thus the QLD govt will have no sympathy with the Beaudesert area LtG demonstrators and already refers to them as “extremists”. The NSW govt has declared its new policy and the law will be enforced both by the Land and Environment Court and if needs be, the police.

As Kyogle and Casino do not have 24-hour police stations and the Lismore police would be over-stretched I am informed, by a serving police officer that if it is deemed necessary the Riot Police will be flown in to handle unruly demonstrations. It was because the Grafton/Coffs Harbour police were shorthanded the Riot Police had to be bus’d into Grafton for the Jail closure demonstration and that demonstration was entirely peaceful and non-confrontational. This officer is no one-eyed supporter of csg or anti-demonstrators he was merely going to do his duty and enforce the law.

There are precedents and easements in the Border ranges: The Sydney–Brisbane railway line goes right through the Ranges and is visible from the Lions Road. There is the most extraordinary loop and tunnel to get the train over the top.

The Lion’s Road itself is an easement as it was carved through the rain-forest in 1969. (http://www.bigvolcano.com.au/stories/lionsroad/index.html) The pipeline will be laid under the road and under the creeks. With modern machinery it’s no big deal. Even less of a deal if the Kyogle Lions Club endorses the pipeline under their road! And it won’t be Metgasco who lays it. So no extra capital required there you understand?

For those who ask when my estimate for completion is 2016/17. The construction time will be brief but the red/green tape will not.

Unless you hold some visceral animus towards Metgasco & wish it ill I cannot understand why you constantly trash the company on this forum and justify your beliefs (sic) with blatant 3rd party propaganda.

Metgasco cannot develop the resource without injections of capital. Without major cash flow the banks will not lend to them so they have to come to us.

Shareholders stupid enough to follow you in boycotting/depriving Metgasco of essential capital when they ask for it will have to blame themselves - not the Board and management - if the company is put on the market for a mega-cheap t/o.

It will be those shareholders who must take responsibility for this calamity.

    It’s that simple.

After all these years and recent frustrations/obstacles who would want that?

Finally, I am disturbed by your use of the words “tearing the flesh” and wishing some sort of angry - and pointless - revenge on Metgasco.

And, unlike so many of yours, rational unaggressive non-abusive posts do not get moderated.
