IMO you no-one should accept what Alan Jones has tendered as an apology; as currently posted on the ABC Online:
"... "I just say it as I see it. It was a raucous night and everyone was into it. But that's not an explanation, not an excuse."
According to that report, Jones has admitted that this is how "he sees it". IMO this reflects Jones's inner thinkingd and of course, his undeniable right!
But what's not his right is to spew such vitriol via his wanton mouthpiece and expect a pathetic, highly qualified apology to count for something.
Jones apparently either does not understand or does not care about how utterly sick and revolted many Australians are with such trashy, repulsive and nasty comments!
As for Gillard; IMO nothing short of legal action is appropriate any longer! Otherwise she is allowing not only herself but also the office of PM to be denigrated; fostering the unscripted ravings of anyone who chooses to do so.
