A great deal of value is in Hawks Nest, South Australia, with about 800m tonnes of iron ore in the ground. This area was previously owned by Western Plains Resources and latterly Felix Resources, now part of Yanzhou Coal Company.
Hawks Nest alone, with just a $2 per tonne worth, should command $1.6 billion or in future terms five time that.
A fair value for ARI's iron ore would be around $5 billion and taking out $2.6bn in debt equates to $2.4bn or $1.90 a share. This being the value of Hawks Nest alone.
