Not at all snuff. An atheist merely denys the existence of a god. How do we define a god? That is the important question.... Most theists have a definition of god which encompasses the assumption that this god, created us with specific intent and cares about what happens to us.

An atheist can not accept that such a god exists. If you are suggesting that perhaps we were designed by some higher intelligence, an elite species or maybe not even an elite species (but just average as far as the universes goes!!) as part of what they do or as a biological experiment than an atheist might not deny that possibility. He has no need to speculate on how that elite species came about. How could he as he has no information to go on...? However he has no need to conjure up some paternalistic figure to hold his hand through his life.

    Hope this helps....
