It is clear to me that the mother has done the wrong thing here. Lets back up a little and look at the whole picture. Firstly she had not 1, not 2 not 3 but 4 children with this fellow, in addition he is the worker of the family and an excellent provider ( he isn't a drug addict, alcoholic, dole bludger, ex con, etc etc)....so he couldn't be as bad as the picture she is now trying to portray.
Furthermore, it was she who tricked the father into letting the children go with her to Australia. He was so trusting that he let them go on a purported holiday to Australia (all the time she had the dishonest ulterior motive of taking them away from the father for good). If she thought she was in the right and the childrens father was an evil monster, than why did she flee Italy before the court had a chance to make its findings? The fact also that she lied to the court here saying she didn't know where the children were and using the children as a media spectacular doesn't seem to be consistent with an honest character.
