Since the dark pools are hidden, my presumption is they are using the price on the ASX to set the price of the dark pools.
It is very hard to run two parallel auctions selling the same products. My presumption is the ASX sets the price and the skulduggery takes place in the dark pools. It is extremely easy to move shares in and out of the dark pools and on to the ASX. It is obvious the shorting is taking place on the ASX and the covering on the dark pools.
How this actually happens is something we can only guess at. What we are certain of is the general public is getting shafted.
The concept of a single ongoing Auction process is very simple, what we have now is not simple and is open to abuse.
The type of person that forms the bulk of the Labour Government is incapable of understanding what is happening. This is a dangerous situation.
