You will understand that some such as myself might find it difficult to reconcile your hard line statement of absolute fact in your first post "Any argument to the contrary is false, pure and simple" with your explanation in the latest post which include "my presumption" and "How this actually happens is something we can only guess at".

Since you presume the dark pool pricing is based on ASX pricing, what exactly do you suggest is the point of participating in a dark pool rather than the lit market and how specifically do the benefits of participating in a dark pool equate to "skulduggery"?

In your last post you argued that dark pools cause the SP in the lit market to fall. Now you believe that dark pool prices are set by ASX pricing. So dark pool pricing would fall also is ASX pricing did right?

"It is very hard to run two parallel auctions selling the same products". Yeah, thats what Gerry Harvey is claiming too. His problem isn't that it can't be done but rather that it works too well.

Look, I don't profess to know everything that everybody in the market is upto but I do know that there are multiple reasons that dark pools exist. I also know that one of the primary agitators to erradicate them has some self interest guiding them. There are arguments for and against dark pools and from where I sit both sets seem to have valid points. You don't seem to understand them and you are scared of them. I get that. Rather than just making up a scary monster story and telling everybody that its unquestionable fact, wouldn't you be better off trying to seek out answers to better understand them so that you can more accurately see what the real problem is? At least then when you do get robbed you will know by who and how.

PS. I transferred some stock to my mum via an off market transfer a number of years back. That transaction didn't show on the ASX. Am I and/or my mum evil dark pool operators because we chose not to buy/sell the stock via the ASX? Did our "skulduggery" impact the share price? Did it hurt you?
