Agreed Bassyab, I enjoy Harry's posts, usually backed with a link or similar, SP3's, fairly level headed and unbiased, & Obe's, well, I just enjoy them for my own reasons.

That's what HC's all about IMO, sharing views and research, learning and entertaining. It it wasn't fun I certainly wouldn't bother and would research in private, but I love it. Not often I get days when I have time but when I do it's gold (for me anyway).

A number of years ago I lost around $200k on a sure thing. There were plenty warning me to exercise caution. I still go on my own research/feeling/hunch but am a lot more cautious now and a lot more thorough in my research. I have managed to re-build my spec portfolio to a decent level but could have lost it all at the time.

I am not saying anyone will lose on any particular stock, including ESI, but I can tell you it sucks if the naysayers turn out to be right.

IMHO people talking a stock down, or sharing a different view to the others, are more likely to be doing it based on their own experience of loss or to express caution. I think it would be really rare to actually try and talk a stock down just to gain an entry. I might be naive?

On the other hand I think once in a stock, pretty much everyone has a motive to talk a stock up and hope that it will help push the price up. I know I do, 100%, once in I hope the price will go up and post positive info I find to try and help it. At that stage I have already researched what I believe are the negatives and have convinced myself it is worth taking a position.

At this stage, as I have said, I am still looking closely at ECT.

So, all I am saying is, don't completely discount the alternate views and do your own research. There are plenty on the ESI threads saying they have done their research and it's all good, but I have been reading these threads for a number of years now and don't often see fair dinkum reseach. Often the posts are more hype type posts.

Pasboz is a classic "proper" researcher IMO. Always has a link to back him up. There are other decent rearchers here and there as well. But what I say to those who say they have done their research and no longer need to re-post it, is why not? Everyday someone will be reading these threads for the first time so why not share your research and repeat it here and there. It can only help your cause and will certainly help those like me who are interested in taking a position and also help fend off those you believe just want to "down ramp".

Don't be annoyed if someone points out your research is wrong, either show them it's right with proof, or take it on board and let it be part of your decision making process.

When I lost the $200k I had plenty of warnings, but also plenty of times I could have exited at a profit/even/smaller loss but I was convinced by my fellow blind faith holders that there was a secret plan unfolding that only I and a select few knew about.

If you can keep the emotion out of it and read a post for what it is rather than thinking it's a personal attack, you will benefit from it by either reinforcing or questioning your decision(we all know there are some personal attacks, but they are usually moderated). It's all good IMO, ENJOY, and as always DYOR.
