'The question have always been WHEN will that happen. That is the multi Million dollars question.'

We are down to two hurdles for exergen to jump.

    1. A billion tonne coal allocation.

    2. Government Co-funding of the demo plant exergen have agreed to build under the BM JV with MNM.

Coal Allocation news is due by year end, but precisely when is unclear. The ALDP scheme's first cut off is 19 November.

Once these two milestones pass the focus will have to go on to Government selling the idea of a significant increase in brown coal use in Victoria to the public.

The way they plan to do that was revealed in the Herald Sun Govt leaked story about a jobs and revenue boom from June. That story was placed in the LNP friendly Herald Sun by O'Brien's office, according to the Greens here:

If O'Brien and Baillieu want to beat the same drum when they confirm a brown coal future in Victoria later in the year by the ALDP/S7 allocation double whammy announcement then they will probably insist that exergen/mnm play their role in the PR offensive about the boom in jobs and revenue that their proposed project will involve.

MNM may even be asked to do a roadshow or broker presentation if that happens...

But until all the ducks are in a row MNM will continue its small target approach to its role in the brown coal pilbara, and the MNM SP will keep being artificially held down.

I'm still betting that the S7 allocations will be timed with the next announcement about the ALDP, and that is when mnm/exergen will be put in the spotlight.

So 'WHEN?' - in the days after 19 November 2012 IMO.
