Why would Gillard list Ralph Blewitt and not the AWU as the legal buyer of the property?

PM linked to property bought with allegedly stolen funds

The Prime Minister has again been linked to alleged dubious practices by her former boyfriend Bruce Wilson, this time surrounding a unit in Fitzroy bought in the name of a member with alleged stolen funds, according to Fairfax Media.

According to the report, documents shows Ms Gillard played a leading role in the 1993 deal, who managed legal work on the purchase without advising her superiors at then employer Slater & Gordon that Mr Wilson was involved.

Australian Workers Union official Ralph Blewitt, a confidant of Mr Wilson, was the legal buyer of the property.

According to Fairfax, a letter sent from Ms Gillard to Mr Wilson from on February 22, 1993, said Mr Blewitt would be the registered owner the unit that Mr Wilson was purchasing.

An AWU investigation in 1996 found that the unit had been purchased partly with stolen union funds, according to Fairfax.
