Vincent Furnier (aka Alice Cooper) - a very intelligent and friendly person to boot - maybe not your cup of tea, but that is not the be all and end all - Wynes World's Wayne and Garth were certainly "not worthy" of meeting him - that's got to say something.
Okay - no, not as famous as Gandhi, Lincoln or Einstein. On that basis of fame, this would be a dead thread.
Sorry, thought it was common sense that being famous and well known had similar enough definitions...
