I've just realized something, International Paper as openly stated in their Annual report are increasing sales in Europe. They have a massive forex advantage particularly against Paperlinx.

iP who are cash-flow positive by over a billion pa, can approach and pick up all of Paperlinx UK and European clients / printers etc, who themselves are under massive stress, and supply paper at a discount to Paperlinx.

Another loss by Paperlinx and it's goodnight. If Paperlinx sense they are under attack by IP and other US Paper companies (and it's easy to tell via clients being approached by IP and whether IP are leasing warehouses in the UK etc) then Paperlinx had better sell their Paper businesses now And/or be buying paper from US mills.

I think the US like having a weak US dollar and will do so for many years.

Of the $26 billion turnover IPs profit was only around a 2 billion, so the margins are so small, that forex can easIly make typical small loss into a bigger one or a small profit to a big one etc.

I bet Paperlinx are monitoring this very closely and stepping up service and buying paper at close to cheapest prices possible, whilst still being good industry players.
